I apologize for the dissertation length of this post haha. I mainly play the online version due to the file size being a bit to big (I mainly play HTML games on my phone), and so I keep finding my save data going away after getting somewhat far, so I think adding this kind of feature could be useful to people who play the online. Thats just reality and I looked up online when the other countries were founded and they were founded after the US declared independence and began calling themselves "Americans." I think a good addition to the game, at least in the online version, would be the ability to export save data to a file. Thus making the USA the first to call themselves "Americans" since the names of the north and south american continents werent named until after the US became a sovereign nation. Furthermore no American I have every met, and since I live there I have met thousands, ever think of themselves as the only "country of the American continents." Also the countries of the American continents were all founded some time after the USA declared independence from Britain. So yes while they all live on the "American" continents their name does not include the word American. The other countries on the American continents such as Brazil, Mexico, chili and so on all have country names that can be used i.e. Just like you cant call ppl from the UK, united kingdomians or something to the nature so you call them British. But you cant call ppl from the USA, "united statsians," its not proper english and sounds terrible. However everything is not as it seems and the main character will be thrust into a dangerous world of magic and sex. The best I came up with is Americans or America is a simplified version of the country's entire name. 396 1,953 1 Overview: Hello guys, this is my first game developed on twine, the story follows a guy who makes a pact with a lust goddess to change his boring life and as a consequence the world around him. I had a hard time trying to explain that to her. My wife is from brazil and she had the same issue with "Americans" saying they are America. It's taken me 2 days to get this far, simply because I'm so utterly overwhelmed by who/what/where/WHY, I've already restarted a few times just to try and refresh who everybody is, and where they are at what times.Click to expand. As for an answer to this. This game has promise, and I'm looking forwards to moving beyond Day 5. The UI in that game is fantastic, and the game locations (and the people in it) are introduced in a logical manner so the player isn't overwhelmed right from the start, unless you choose the option as an experienced player. For the Dev, try playing, which is also a twine based game with similar magic, mind control, warlocks & witches, with sex everywhere premise. Insert a "cheat" or option for experienced players to go whereever they want from Day 1, because they know what is happening.Ģ) A small name strip when someone is talking, a tiny image alone sometimes isn't sufficient.Īt the risk of it sounding slightly like I'm plugging another game. Keep the map mostly locked, so they go to the correct places at the right times. Own is a similar word, also frequently applied in situations of debt, but has entirely different connotations related to slavery, or Master/Sub relationships.Ĭomplaints out of the way to improve the game some suggestions:ġ) Streamline the first 4 days so new players can better understand wtf is happening, and where they should be going. The English seemed mostly ok, the only issue I've encountered that was more 'funny' than bad English, is during a conversation between "Jane" and player, where Jane was begging the player to introduce her to PC sister (Mia I think?) and the player says something like "fine, I will do you the favour and you will OWN me later." The correct word in this situation of debt is 'owe', as in "you will owe me a favour later". Ok, tried downloading this 2 days ago couple major issues right off the bat and Im only on Day 5 (just after finding out I have Voice of Command):ġ) There's WAY too many characters being thrown at the player in too short a time, and the UI isn't very clear on who's talking.Ģ) The MAP opens up way too fast, on Day 2 there's 3 different Streets, Lilac Drive, Washington Ave, College and the Beach.ģ) related to the points above, too much open-world too quickly, especially since there's also a time function and I've had several "dates" where events like "go meet X at 3pm, go meet Y at 4pm, go meet the neighbour after fixing her sink at 6pm, etc" all happen on the same day when I've barely started. ]
